 The goal of Evolution’s Beginner team is to develop a competitive synchronized skating team at a young age to teach and develop appropriate skills in skating. This development includes the following;

•      Posture- from head to toes

•      Pushes- to increase speed and power in skating

•      Glide- to enhance the flow of skating

•      Turns- different edges and directions

•      Spins- rotational

•      Moves (spread eagles, bauers, spirals)- to gain flexibility

•         Synchronized team skating also introduces young skaters to coordination and musicality. Teams skate programs to music which teaches them to count music and skate to a beat while also learning how to interperate the music they are skating to. Coordination is also developed by getting skater’s heads and arms to move along with their feet with the music.

Teamwork skills are also developed by being a part of a synchro team. Skaters learn how to work together in a group with other skaters their own age. They learn to how respect each other in a team environment. They develop discipline and the ability to listen. Other teamwork skills that are developed by skating on a synchro team include:

•      Strong friendships

•      Sharing experiences in skating

•      Traveling together to competitions

•      Team spirit

•      Cheering for other Evolution teams at competitions

•      Learning how to work together to achieve a common goal
